Quellan Announces $12 Million in Private Financing Round

Company to Expand Operations and Accelerate Analog IC Product Roadmap

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Quellan Incorporated, a leader in high performance signal integrity analog ICs, today announced the close of $12M in private venture funding. This Series B financing round was led by Menlo Ventures of Menlo Park, California to provide Quellan with the necessary capital to expand its position in markets where both narrowband and wideband signal interference problems are severely impacting functionality and performance.

Quellan designs specialized analog integrated circuits that dramatically improve the integrity of signal interconnects. By using a proprietary analog signal processing technology that provides very low power and flexibility, Quellan products, when embedded in line cards, connectors, cabling, or hand held devices, seamlessly improve existing infrastructure speeds or platform density by up to 400% -- all without the need to redeploy a new architecture.

"Quellan has assembled an impressive team and a unique approach to the difficult problem of assuring signal integrity across a wide variety of communications platforms," said Hal Calhoun, Managing Director at Menlo Ventures, who will take a seat on the Quellan board of directors.

Quellan's technology serves the broadcast, storage, enterprise, computing, consumer and mobile handset markets. Quellan products equalize, compress and remove interference noise from vital communication channels in cabling, chassis, and radio subsystems. When packaged in an ultra-small footprint, low power CMOS devices, these products dramatically improve channel performance.

"The demand for improved signal integrity and noise cancellation is overwhelming based on our initial product deployment and has been found to be highly applicable in many other markets," said Tony Stelliga, Chairman and CEO at Quellan, "These new funds enable us to quickly expand into these new found market opportunities."
